I know I am super late in the game but I just finished that last Harry Potter book last night!!!!!!
The whole series was sooo good!!!!!!! I wish there was another book to read. I hate not knowing what happens to everyone else from the books that was mentioned at the end.
I now can't wait for the next movie to come out and I just bought the first 6 DVDs so I can watch all the movies again to see what I missed the first time around.
I might just be a little obsessed. lol.

Books Books Books
I saw this MEME on some other people's blogs and I really wanted to fill it out. I love books and this really brought back some great memories of books I've read.
1. Favorite book[s] when you were a child & why?
Amelia Bedelia. They were the BEST books when I was little. It was so funny all the messes she would get herself into. Also I loved Strega Nona (Grandma Witch). These are books that I still enjoy today. I feel like they just don't make children's books like they used too.
2. First "grown-up" book you remember reading?
A Ring of Endless Light by Madeleine L'Engle. I loved this book! I must have read it a dozen times. I think I just loved the fact that the main character got to swim with a dolphin all the time! Another book would be the The Silver Pencil by Alice Dalgliesh. I'm not sure why I liked this book so much, it’s a very unique story. I have read it a bunch of times though. It's defiantly not for everyone though.
3. Favorite movie that came from a book?
Atonement. The movie was exactly like the book. The images and the people were just how I imagined them when I was reading the book. I actually might like the movie better because the cinematography was just absolutely beautiful
4. Movie that you loved so much that you WISHED there was a book out so that you could find out more about the movie.
This might sound silly, but Dirty Dancing. I LOVE that movie and I think it could probably be a great book. Not so much the dancing, but the love story, drama and inner thoughts of everyone would be great to read on paper.
5. Worst book you've ever read?
There are a few that are pretty awful. With me though, when I start a book even if it's terrible I have to finish it. There is only ONE book that was soo bad that I just couldn't finish it. A New Earth by Eckhart Tolle. I picked it up because Oprah raved and raved about this thing. I thought it was HORRIBLE. Just thinking about it now starts to make me seethe.
6. Book that everyone raves about that you either a) haven't read and feel slightly dumb for not having read it or b) have tried to read and hated and so feel slightly dumb that everyone is getting something you don't?
See number 5. Also the Da Vinci Code, mostly because everyone who reads seems this books seems to treat it as Non-fiction when it is in fact FICTION. I did enjoy the movies though. I liked all those clues and everything to figure things out, but I didn't much care for the religious aspect.
7. If you were forced to choose only 3 books that you could read for the rest of your life, which ones would they be?
Perks of Being a Wallflower is a definite. Beside that it would be really hard for me to choose. I love to read different things so it would be hard to whittle it down.
8. Name one book that you would recommend everyone you know read.
I couldn't pick just one. I always recommend Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky. It is one of my favorite books. There are endless quotes from that book that I loved and related too. Also I tell people to read The Time Traveler's Wife by Audrey Niffenegger. It is an amazing story,
9. What is your "guilty pleasure" reading?
Young Adult books. I loved the Twilight books and I'm also really into anything by Sarah Dessen. When I buy these kinds of books I tell myself that I need to grow up and start reading "real" books. But I love them. It lets me escape the real world for a little while and isn't that the whole point in reading?
10. What book (except the Bible or other major major document of your religion/faith) has changed your outlook on life the most?
I started reading A New Earth because I thought it would change me like that. But then I saw the hypocrisy of it and now in general I don't really like those kinds of books because they tell you how to think, act and do. Also people take these kinds of books so literally that they end up losing themselves. Remember that book The Secret? People actually stopped seeking treatment for illnesses because the book states that if you think you will get better, you will. Ughh, no not so much. So while some books may open my mind a little or I may view something a little differently, I have never read something that really changed me. On the other hand, if these self help books do help others I think that’s great.

Which do you prefer?
I know you’ve all heard people say things like, “Yeah I saw that movie but the book was way better.” I usually feel the exact same way. With books you let your imagination run free and when you see the movie a lot of times what you visualized is not what is portrayed in the movie. It is very rare for me to prefer a movie to the book. The only one I can think of right now is Atonement. I loved the book and the movie was almost exactly how I pictured it. The cinematography was so amazing which is why I like the movie slightly more then the book. However I would still recommend you read the book before you watched the movie.
Anyway after I saw Twilight I got to thinking. How many people when after seeing a movie, decide to go and read the book? I can honestly say that I have never done that before. Before seeing Twilight I was determined to read the book before I saw the movie, because I knew if I didn’t I would never read the book. Also in books there are usually a lot of subplots that happen that never make it in the film and I hate being left out of things like that.

Obsessed
I caved in. I didn’t want to but I couldn’t resist. I bought Twilight. I’ve read 200 pages in about 2 hours. I can’t seem to put it down. As soon as I finish, I plan on racing to the theater to see the movie. I cannot believe I caved and now I’m as obsessed as everyone else. It is really good, totally filled with teen angst but I love books like that. If you like books like that I suggest you read it.
I cannot wait for thanksgiving!! I can already smell the turkey and all the other goodies. I just need to get through my half day tomorrow and it will be the weekend for me!!
Christmas is exactly one month from today. Seriously? Where did 2008 go? This year has flown by. Crazy that it will soon be a new year. I’m excited because I love new beginnings and the New Year is perfect to start them. Are you excited about the upcoming holidays?
Completely random but I think I may have a ghost. Let me explain. I have a fan in my room. In the summer it is always going, but now since it’s cold and my mom doesn’t believe in leaving the heat on at night I’ve had little use for it. However TWO times this past week I’ve woken up to my fan going. I keep on trying to remember that I may have woken up a little warm and turned it on, but I cannot remember doing so. I should note that I have a remote for the light and fan so if I want to put it on I just have to lean over and press the button.
So I either A. put the fan on in my sleep or B. I have a ghost and they noticed I was warm and was kind enough to put the fan on. What do you think? If this were just a one-time occurrence I would just shrug it to me forgetting, but twice in one week? I’m a little freaked out.

Thursday Thoughts: Books
I am spending way too much money at Barnes and Noble. Just last weekend I spent about $70 on books!! I do that about every 2-3 weeks. I need to start going to the library or I will be broke soon. But am I the only one who likes to own their books?? I just love owning books and doing what I want with it.
Do any of you have any suggestions for books?? I always love getting recommendations. Even on the train I always look around to see what people are reading to give me ideas. One book I recommend to you is The Time Traveler's Wife by Audrey Niffenegger. It is amazing. I’m not really into Sci-Fi but this was Amazing. It is actually being made into a movie, but I seriously suggest you read the book first. I don’t usually like when books are made into movies because a lot gets changed or it just isn’t the same, but this novel I think will translate well into film.
You know the saying “Don’t Judge a book by its cover”?? Well I have to say that I always judge a book by its cover! Of course I read the back of the book to see what it is about, but the only reason why I picked it up in the first place is because of the pretty/interesting cover. Don’t get me wrong I do read some books that have a less interesting front, but those are usually recommended to me or I had read a review about them.
I don’t think I could ever buy those romance novels just simply because of their covers. You know what I’m talking about right, the ones with Fabio half naked and in a passionate embrace with a woman. I’m not really into books like that, I need some sort of sustenance in the book, but if I was interested I would feel weird buying it. Mostly because I would be reading it on the train and I wouldn’t want my fellow commuters to judge my reading choices. Unfortunately I do it all the time, so I can’t be the only one. If I were to really want that book I would probably only read it at home, the beach, or some place private. That way no one can really see what I am reading.
I know you think I am crazy, but I can’t help thinking these things. It’s not that I really care what people think, but I have just always done this.
