Mom Mobile*

So.

I bought a car!!

I've been unhappy with my old for a while now. I had a family friend who owns a dealership who was keeping his eye out for something that would be good for me.

I didn't have a lot of requirements, not a lot of miles on the car, 4 doors, NO convertibles.

Anyway this weekend, we went up to his shop because my cousin was buying a car. As soon as we get there, he shows me a car he thinks I will like.

It is a 2009 Hyundai Sonata, v6, full loaded, and is freaking awesome. lol. Well other than the color. It's a champagne (read: beige)**. Which I think is old ladyish. Other than that I loved it.

I told him I had to think about it and would get back to him the next day.

I was getting $3000 for my old car to trade it. Plus I was planning on putting down some of my own money to make the payments relatively small. Still I was unsure if I wanted to be making car payments for the next 5 years.

After the car shop, my mom, Aunt, and cousins went to visit my Grandma. I told her that I was looking at the car and she completely surprised me by offering me $5,000 to put down on it!!! She also did the same thing with my cousin!!!

I couldn't believe!! I really do have the best family. I was in tears when she offered that to me! At first I refused to take it, but my Grandma had already made up her mind and was going to give it to me no matter what.

After that, I really couldn't say no!

So with that money, plus what I was originally going to put down, my payments for the car are soooo tiny. I should be able to pay it off in less than 60 months which is what my loan is for. Also my interest rate is really cheap!

I couldn't be happier. Everyone is convinced that I'm going to miss having a convertible but I love this car. Plus it has a sun roof so it's a happy medium for me! The car drives like a dream, and the sound system is amazing!

Driving it around yesterday was so much fun! I haven't had this much fun driving around since I was in high school!

The best part? No buyers guilt!! You know how sometimes after a really big purchase you feel guilty for spending that money?? I have none of that. I am just looking forward to the next time I drive it!

*The official name my family gave the car
**The color has grown on me. I actually really like it now!
