New Direction?

I've been finding it hard to blog lately. I'm not giving up on it yet, but I feel like I never really have anything good to say. My life is in a wonderful place right now. When I first started this blog I was miserable and I used this space as a place to vent and work through my feelings. Now everything is peachy.

Hmmmmm, Maybe I need to change the name of my blog. That actually might help me. I need to find a new direction for this space. Should it be more about my weight loss and fitness? Stay the way it is now? Or something totally different? Well that will have to go on the back burner for a little while.

The next few months I am a busy busy lady. Almost every single weekend from now until the end of June I have stuff going on. Lots of travelling and wedding related stuff for my friend. Throw is some upcoming races for the weekends in between and my head starts to spin a little.

I wish it wasn't so busy though. I have been wanting to give online dating a try again, but my weekends are so full I wouldn't be able to actually go on any dates in the near future. Not that I think I'll be flooded with offers anyway. The last time was a total bust for me. But it's something I'm willing to give another shot at anyway. I'm in a better place now than I was the last time I was on there.

My gym challenge is finally over. The last week of it was so stressful but it's done. We will find out which team won this Saturday at the party. I really hope it's us. We were on a roll for a while points wise, but final weigh ins and the last challenge will probably be the deciding factor. Either way Saturday is going to be a blast! I can't wait.

The spring cleaning last weekend was also a success. I got rid of 3 black garbage bags of clothes. Half my closet is now empty waiting for me to fill it. I did some shopping last weekend and got some awesome stuff. This Sunday a few friends from work and I are going to go to the outlets.

Any suggestions on where I should take this blog would be much appreciated!

Spring Cleaning

It's that time of year again. When I feel the need to purge my closet. A lot of clothes no longer fit or I just rarely wear anymore. I need so many tops that can be worn for spring and summer. I have all winter and fall stuff.

My life the past few weeks has been totally consumed with my gym challenge. It will finally be OVER on Saturday. I cannot wait! As much as I love being the captain, I'm ready for things to go back to normal. Ready to go back to my normal workout routine. So Saturday morning I'll do my last and final challenge bright and early. We won't find out who won until the following weekend though at the party.

After the challenge the fun will start for me. I plan on going through everything I own. Getting rid of the clothes that no longer fit and the shoes that I no longer wear. It sounds silly but I really can't wait to fill up those black garbage bags for the clothing drop.

Then I'm going SHOPPING. I am a huge online shopper. I buy almost everything online. The last time I went to a mall was before Christmas. I am really looking forward to going out, shopping and actually trying things on. This sounds strange but now that I'm smaller there are sooo many options online to go through. It's totally overwhelming and I never seem to find anything I like anymore.

Even though I'm not where I want to be yet, I'm getting pretty close. Most of the items I plan on buying should still look good on my when I hit my goal weight. I also don't plan on buying a million things. Just enough to replenish my soon to be depleted wardrobe.

Eating and Shopping (Two of my favorite things)

My Thanksgiving was wonderful. By Thursday my mother had calmed down and the whole house was ready for my family to invade. It was a great day with lots and lots of food. It was also the first year I didn't have to sit at the kids table! I am 27 and this has never happened. lol

I live in a ranch house. The dinning room and family are connected together. There used to be two little walls between the two rooms. Last year we knocked down the two walls and made the passage way wider. Because of this we were able to connect the dinning room table and the kids table together, so all 20 of us could sit and eat dinner as a family. It was so nice! No one missed out on any conversations.

I ate so much food though. I just couldn't stop myself. I was so full that I thought I may be sick. My mom made her famous pepperoni bread, there was spinach artichoke dip, and cheese and meats platter for our apps. Dinner we had turkey, stuffing (one with sausage, one without) sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, broccoli rabe, green beans.... oh it was delicious. Thankfully I don't like dessert, or I may have actually gotten sick. My aunt made key lime pie and pumpkin pie, my grandma made apple stroudel and there were cookies.

It was a great day. But really long. I woke up at 7:30am to go to the gym and my family didn't end up leaving until 9pm that night. I was asleep by 9:30.

Unfortunately all that food caused me to have severe heartburn. I woke up at 3:30 in pain. I took tums but they didn't help. I figured since I was up, I may as well go shopping. lol. I was so sure that it was going to be packed when I left my house. My first stop was Kohls since I live right near there. I figured I would drive by and see what the parking lot looked like, before I would even go it.

It was a ghost town. I couldn't believe it! There was maybe 8 other people in the store. It was awesome! I got so many good deals, including a gold pair of earrings that were $300 marked down to $50 bucks. I got a Kitchen Aid Mixer for only $130 (after discounts and a rebate)!!! I've been dying to get a mixer for a long time. This was a great deal! Plus with the $15 kohls cash back I got like $105 dollars to use there this weekend.

After Kohls it was still only 5:30. So I headed down to the Jersey Shore Outlets. This was a little more busy, but I had no problem parking and was in and out all the stores pretty. The only store that looked crazy was Burberry. There was a line to get into the store and the line to check out wrapped around the store. There was no way I was going in there. But I got 50% off everything at Cole Haan and since it was before 8am I got an extra 20% off my total. Ann Taylor was 50% off everything. I got the most darling coat. So many good deals. By 8am I was totally done with my black friday shopping!

I had such a good experience. Later on in the day when I was driving around I saw that kohls was a madhouse. I am so glad I went before it got really busy. Me getting hearburn was the best thing to happen to me!! lol

How was your Holiday? Did you do any shopping for Black Friday? Online or in store?

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas

I'm one of those people who love to get their Christmas shopping done early. That way I can actually enjoy the holiday season once December hits. I try to be done with all my shopping by Black Friday.

Well this year I have outdone myself. As of today, November 14, I am FINISHED with my shopping!!!! Jealous? lol. I can't believe I'm done already. I even bought all my cards for everyone. I'm so ahead of the game, I'm considering wrapping all my presents next weekend! But then I may feel kinda strange. lol.

The reason why I'm done so early is because with my brother and his family living in India, I had to mail out their gifts this week, in order to ensure they would have everything by Christmas. Once I got started, I just finished with everyone else.

I am really looking forward to the holidays. I love love Thanksgiving (my favorite holiday), and I can't wait for Christmas this year. I have cousins flying in from California that I haven't seen in at least 4 years! We are having a mini family reunion. We usually have around 20 people to celebrate Christmas with, this year will be over 30! It's going to be great!

Last night I even watched Elf on TV. I love that movie and it really got me into the holiday spirit!

When do you try to get your holiday shopping done?

I did something you're told to never do!

I ordered my Bridesmaids dress a size down!!!

A good friend from college asked me to be in her wedding. I was so honored and excited that I get to be a part of her big day!!! I was also really excited to go shopping for a dress now that I'm a lot smaller. I wasn't worried that I wouldn't be able to fit into any of the sample dresses they had at the store.

This weekend I went down to Baltimore to see my friends and try on dresses. On Saturday, me, the bride and the other 2 bridesmaids were off to David's Bridal to find a dress. The bride was super awesome and told us we didn't have to get matching dresses. As long as it was in the same color, she was happy. How cool is that??

It was packed with people there. We decided to get shorter dresses since the wedding will be in June. We roamed the racks and just started pulling. Once we each had a couple of dresses we were ready to try on. I grabbed a size 14 dress, but I was worried it wouldn't zip. These dresses tend to run smaller than regular stores.

I was shocked when the dress zipped up! It fit perfectly!! Also it looked amazing! The other 2 girls didn't really like their dresses. We went on to try dress 2. Another winner for me, but I still liked the first one best. The other girls still didn't like their dress. We tried on a third. No go for all of us. The other girls decided to try on my dress. So I put mine back on and they tried one on.

We all loved it! The bride though we were doing this to please her, getting the same dress. But we all genuinely liked this dress the best. Best part? It was only $100! Yay! We were literally done in like 20 minutes. I really think that had to be the quickest bridesmaids dress shopping trip ever. lol

Now it came time to get measured and order the dresses. The 14 fit me perfectly. However I'm not done losing weight yet. I still have 20 to 30 pounds to go. The lady at the store told me they can take dresses in, but only about one size down.

Even though it makes me nervous I ordered the 12!! AHHH! This gives me even more motivation to get this last bit of weight off. I don't care how comfortable my body is at this weight, I am not DONE. I must fit into this dress!

I get the dress in early December. However I won't have to get it altered until late February/March. So my goal is to be smaller than the 12 by that date! Once I get the actual dress in the mail, I'm going to take progress photos.

For now, here is what the dress looked like in the store. It's going to be in a pretty clover green color. Also don't mind my socks. I forgot to take them off. lol.

Success!!

It's September 1st. I can't believe how fast August went by though.

I'm happy to say that through shear willpower I did not purchase one single item of clothing, shoes or makeup for 6 weeks!! Holy crap!!! I am so happy that I was able to do this. I paid $1000 toward my credit card and it's almost totally paid off!! Hooray!

I think I need to do this more often. However my closet is in a sad state of affairs. There are seriously NO CLOTHES. IT's all hangers. Every time I've gone down a size, I've gotten rid of my clothes that are too big. It's feels great to do it. However not being able to buy any clothes that fit this past month was HARD.

Alreay today I've ordered clothes online from Macy's, The Limited and The Loft!! I went a little crazy!! lol. I also got a pair of rain boots that were 50% off from Kate Spade. I seriously went to town. But I honestly needed it.

I am however not buying ANY summer clothes. Everything that I've purchased is for the fall. I literally own one single sweater right now. I have a feeling it's going to get cold quick this year. I need to be prepared!

Also since I am still losing weight, everything that I'm buying is on sale/I have a pretty awesome coupon. My Limited stuff I got was 40% off and free shipping. The Macy's stuff, 50% off, free shipping again plus a 20 dollar off coupon! The Loft stuff was 40% off and free shipping. Rain boots 50% off!

I am becoming a pretty awesome bargain shopper. lol. This weekend I also plan on hitting some labor day sales. They are the best!

I just love buying clothes now! I have so many options to choose from!

Tightening my purse strings

I've said this many times before... I love online shopping!! Lately though it's been really out of control. I was ordering something at least once a week! Two weeks ago, I spent over $200 at Nordstrom (hello anniversary sale)and almost $300 at Bloomingdales. I bought both of those within days of each other. Cut to me having a panic attack and slight buyers remorse. That was WAY too much money!

However when the packages came, they were just to pretty to return!!

Hello my new favorite shoe for the fall.

">

Hello shoes I will rarely be able to wear... lol

Hello new fav pair of shades!!

This was my favorite purchase of all!!! It is just so damn pretty!!! I am obsessed with it!!!!

These purchases happen about 2 weeks ago when they were on sale. Still expensive, but at least on sale...

Since that week, I've decided NO shopping at all until September 1. Online or in store. That means, no clothes, shoes, accessories or makeup. I will only buy essentials like food or soap if I need too.

So far, it hasn't been terrible. When it's slow at work, it's been a little rougher, because I usually kill time by looking at websites. I just need to find other ways to keep me occupied. I know I can do this though!

The good thing is I don't really need anything. I have enough summer stuff to keep me happy. Come September 1st, I will be able to buy clothes again, but they must be for the fall!! I literally have not one item of clothing that will fit me for the cooler months. They are all too big! (YAY) I will not allow myself to be tempted to pick up last minute summer deals. Fall and Winter allowed ONLY!

I'm hoping this month off from shopping, will allow my to pay off my credit card finally. Every time I get close, I seem to splurge like this. Come Mid September it should be totally paid off. Then my plan is to pay it off in full every month from then on.

I'll give you an update on how successful I was come September 1!

Seriously?!?!

Last week I ordered the cutest dress online from Macy's. I was so excited to get it in the mail. That package was delivered last night and when I opened it up, to my surprise there was no dress. Instead I got a WHITE T-SHIRT. WTF Macys???? How does someone packing up a shipment confuse a blue/green dress for a white t-shirt?? I mean aren't they supposed to double check these things? So now I have to get in touch with Macy's (because there is no way I'm paying for shipping to return this), and straighten this out and get what I freaking ordered! Have you ever had a mix up like this when shopping online?

Solid B

My effort to curb my online shopping and spending was pretty good. I did slip a few times, mostly because I am in desperate need for workout clothes. However they were really cheap and I felt like I couldn't miss a deal like that. Seriously Old Navy kind of rocks in the workout gear department. I got a sports bra for like $15 bucks and active pants for only $8 dollars on sale!! Also the quality is really good, which makes it a steal.

I also bought a pair of boots, but that was mostly because I forgot about my goals for the month. lol. The boots are amazing and I know they will be worn many many times. It is almost impossible for me to find boots that actually fit my calf. So when I saw these and tried them on I knew I couldn't pass them up.

So minus the boots and workout gear I did pretty great this month!! I'm now back on track (mostly) with my budgeting and saving. Definitely a solid B for my efforts. lol

Labor Day

I hope everyone had a great long weekend!! Mine was really nice. Perfect weather, bbqs, and seeing good friends. I honestly love bbqs and getting together with friends. Especially when the weather was as nice as it was this weekend. I also spent way too much money. lol

On Saturday I went shopping for some shoes for the fall. I only have sandals or sneakers and I really needed some flats for the colder months. I went to the outlets near me and picked up a gorgeous pair of Cole Haan gray flats. They are seriously soo pretty and they were like 90 dollars off from the original price!!

Then I bought a Michael Kors bag. The zipper on the purse I currently had broke, and I've been looking for a replacement for a while. I'm pretty picky about bags, but the second I saw this I knew it was perfect. It was also on sale!! It was still a lot of money, but a lot less money than it would normally be. Plus bags are the one thing I always splurge one. Isn't it so pretty??

Then I managed to buy two more flats, one bronze and another black. But both pairs together was under 60 bucks which was awesome. Plus I had to buy a birthday gift for a friend. I definitely spent way too much money, but I don't really plan on doing much more shopping for the fall. I'm set for now.

How did you spend your labor day?

Random Thoughts

I told you all about my spring cleaning. Apparently my cleaning out my closet was a green light to go on a shopping spree. I bought 2 pairs of capri pants, 4 tops, one beach dress and a pair of lounging shorts. All online, and all in one day. Geez. I have NO self control sometimes. Anyway I really needed some more summer clothes. I feel like all I own is winter stuff and with this insane heat NJ as been having, I needed it.

Speaking of shopping I also bought the new Sookie Stackhouse book and the Jen Lancaster books. Both released today. I am so excited to read both of them. I can’t wait to see what happens next to Sookie and what hilarious tales Jen will be telling.

I don’t normally talk about my job here but I had my performance review the other day and it was excellent!!!!!!! I couldn’t be happier and I can’t wait to see my next pay check and the little bit of extra money I’ll now be getting!

Not so good news? NJ Transit has raised their ticket prices. My monthly train pass is going up a whopping 80 dollars!!! Ugh. Not very happy about this at all.

My mom owns a timeshare. We have one week that is going to expire at the end of August. I wasn’t really planning on going on vacation this summer because I want to try and visit my brother in India come the fall. However it would be stupid to just let this week go to waste. Also it seems most of my friends don’t want to go away anywhere and spend a lot of money. This means I don’t really have anyone to go away with.

I’m not really sure what to do. It would be nice to just go to Florida or something but I don’t really want to go by myself. Or maybe I could try and sell the week on craigslist or something. But that could get messy. I just need to look into this more. I keep on procrastinating it for some reason but something needs to be booked soon. Any suggestions??

Occupy your time

It's almost the end of February and I reached my goal of saving $800 this month!! What I'm doing is I'm putting the money in my savings account. Once it's there, I'm not allowed to touch it That way I won't give in to temptation.

The only problem is this past week has been kind of slow at work. After I check all the blogs, gossip sites and my e-mail about 50 times I start to browse online stores. This is bad.

When I do this I have such an urge to just go ahead and buy something. Of course if it's in my budget I will buy something, but the whole point of this project is to curve my spending. I can't keep on looking online or I will spend more money that I really need to spend. I've even gone as far as putting items in the shopping cart and then just exiting the window. lol. I'm a mess.

Anyway are there any websites that you frequent that can help occupy my time so I resist the urge to spend? I really need suggestions!!!

Stir Crazy

I hope everyone had a great long weekend!

Mine was pretty nice, I went to see Valentine’s Day. While the movie was cute and funny, it was a little long for me. It was almost 2 and a half hours long. It defiantly could have been cut down. I also visited my grandma since I hadn’t seen her in a few weeks.

Other than that I didn’t really do anything and I was BORED. With this horrible weather I haven’t really been able to do anything. I just couldn’t think of anything to do so I basically just sat home the whole time.

Usually when I’m home on the weekends if I get bored I’ll go shopping, I’ll take my dogs to the park or visit with friends. Since there is so much snow the park is out of the question. I haven’t been shopping at all because I’m trying to save money. I have no will power when I go out. If I see something I like, chances are I will buy it. Which is why I have to take shopping out of the equation to save. My friends also tend to become hermits in the winter so I tend to go out a lot less too.

Now I’m stuck at home with nothing to do! If it was the summer I’d go to the beach or something. Maybe I’m just ready for winter to be over, but I always feel like there is a lot less to do in the winter than any other season.

I have thought about joining some kind of club, but besides reading I don’t really have any other hobbies. Besides shopping. lol.

Basically I’m slowly losing my mind.

How do you spend your weekends?

Thanksgiving Recap

Thanksgiving was great! Just the break I needed. The day was filled with family, friends and a whole lot of food!! It was delicious.

We ended up having a extra full house. My cousin brought a friend who didn't have anywhere to go and my mom invited some co-workers whose family was across the country. It just filled my heart to have them come and be able to celebrate the day with us.

The night before (Wednesday) I went out and it was defiantly a bust. I was having a great time and my DD decided to leave around 11:30. Granted we got to the bar super early to avoid the crowds and get some seats, but still. It was just starting to get really crowded. We left and there was a line wrapped around the block! I tried to find a ride home other than her but couldn't. Also I didn't want to bother my mom who was getting up at 5:30 to put the turkey in the oven!

I made the most out of the night and it was still nice to see some of my friends.

Even though turkey day was a long day for me I still couldn't sleep in the next day. So I hit the streets.

It wasn't too bad! The parking was a problem at times but inside the store everything was fine! Some notable purchases were

Ulta: I bought CHI hair straightener for 79 dollars!

Kohls: I got a Gold Chain that was $210 for $60!!! I also bought earrings for my sister-in-law that were $110 for only $20! I love that store.

Best Buy: I was able to get a Blu Ray DVD player for $125 with a HDMI cord for free. I actually bought 2. One for me and one for my brother. My other brother is going to go in on the gift with me which is nice! I also got some DVDs that were 4 dollars.

I also got a couple of other things too, filler gifts mostly. But those were my big buys that I was proud of!

So did you brave the crowds this weekend? Get anything good??

Fail

So I caved. I bought something online yesterday. I just couldn’t help myself. The dress was originally $108 and it was on sale for $38. How could I not buy that great of a deal.

Also remember I said that I was buying two dresses right before this whole thing started? Well one was amazing. The other was just meh so I decided to return it.

The price of that dress was a lot more than this so I figured I’m not really cheating. More like an exchange!

I know I’m pathetic.

Well this morning I get an e-mail from Nordstrom telling me the item I ordered is no longer available and has been cancelled!!!

How funny is that?

I’m going to take that as a sign that I need to complete my month of no online shopping!

Bullet points

This week at work I am covering for two people who are out. Needless to say I've been insanely busy! I've barely had time to read other people's blogs and I really missed not being able to post like I wanted to this week.

Anyway here are some updates about me

  • I fell in Penn Station when I was going home from work!!! Not only was it mortifying but also I really hurt my knee. I fell right down on them and now my right knee is twice the size of the other and I'm in a lot of pain. It's been a few days now and I'm really worried that something might be wrong. If I don't feel better by next week, I'm going to have to make a Dr's appointment. I am so bummed about this. I've been crying non-stop. With all of my past knee problems, I finally got to a point where I thought I wasn't going to have to deal with this stuff anymore and here I am back at square one.

  • This no online shopping thing is really hard!! Especially when stores like Barnes and Noble send me coupons for 30 percent off!! They must know that I'm not shopping this month and are doing it to tease me!

  • This past weekend was a complete fail with me cleaning out my room. I didn't touch it! It was just one of those weekends when you blink your eyes and it's already Sunday night! I'm going to try and attempt this again this weekend.

Challenge

I decided to post a challenge to myself this month. Starting Saturday I will not allow myself to buy anything online until November. My online shopping has gotten out of control. It’s to the point where I’m purchasing things at least once a week.

I’m not stopping because I need to save money or whatever; I’m stopping because this is becoming a bad habit. Most of the things I buy I can do without. Keep in mind I’m nowhere near the Shopaholic chick from the books. I don’t buy THAT much, but it is becoming like an addiction.

What happens is I get bored at work and I run out of things to do online. I read blogs, check my e-mail, and my usual websites (perez, popcandy, FML, etc) and then after that I’ don’t know what to do. I used to check the sites repeatedly until something new pops up, but that’s gets real old real quick.

So what I do now is after all that I browse shopping sites and buy things. My staples are clothes, books and makeup. Sometimes shoes if I know the brand and what size I am for them.

I’m not spending a lot. Part of what thrills me while online shopping is searching for an amazing deal. Like buying a coat from Nordstrom that was 200 dollars and on sale for only 40 dollars! Or the one time Sephora was having this amazing sale where I was getting makeup from brands like Hard Candy for only 3 to 5 dollars.

This helps kill time and also come 3 to 5 days later I get a nice little gift in the mail. It’s a win-win. Only I feel like it’s getting out of hand. It seems I can’t go a day with out at least browsing. Which would be fine if that was only what I was doing but I will end up talking myself into buying. Just this week I’ve bought books and makeup (that will be delivered today btw) and the previous week I bought clothes from Macy’s.

So starting Saturday no more online shopping, I am still allowed to go to actual stores. Despite that I have a feeling this is going to hurt. Hopefully I will last!! I will keep you updated.

Also if you are wondering why I’m not starting today it’s because I’m buying a dress tomorrow from Nordstrom. I would wait until the month is over but it’s on sale and I actually need it since my brother is most likely getting married in December. And I’m worried it won’t be there in a month.

Do you see how I talk myself into these things??? lol

Any tips on how I can resist temptation?

Splurge

Last Wednesday I was sick. I mean like woke up at 2:30 am feeling like crap sick. The worst part was that I could not fall back to sleep. I don’t think that’s ever happened to me before. By 5 am I decided I wasn’t going to work and see a doctor. I hate using my PTO days like this. I rather save them and use them for vacation but there was no way I was going to make it through the day on like 2 hours of sleep.

Turns out I caught a parasite from my trip to Jamaica and had to start taking 3 different prescriptions to get rid of it. Thankfully I went to the doctor because it would have gotten a lot worse and with the medicine I was starting to feel better later that day.

By the weekend I was feeling great. Saturday I got my haircut and colored. I went really dark this time and it took a while for me to get used to it. Since the sun lighted up my hair so much this summer it was like a new person staring back into the mirror. I’m loving it now though. It really makes my eyes pop out.

For some reason I really felt like spending money this weekend. First was my hair, which cost a pretty penny. Then I bought a Kate Spade bag from their outlet store. It is gorgeous and I don’t even regret spending all that money on it. It was 40% off, I couldn’t resist. Then I bought myself some Puma sneakers and a birthday gift for my friend and my mom. Both aren’t for a while but I just couldn’t help myself.

In total I spent almost $500 dollars this weekend. Since I’m pretty tight with my money usually I tend to splurge once in a while. This was defiantly a splurge weekend. I don’t even feel guilty!

Have you ever just splurged on something without giving it a second thought? What was your best splurge?

Contentment

I had a really nice long weekend. It was really laid back which was exactly what I needed.

Friday I went to the beach in the morning and it was great, until it started pouring at noon. Which was fine. I tend to get ADD if I’m at the beach for to long. I can’t seem to sit still. I got to the beach early that day so I was about ready to leave when it started to get cloudy. The rest of the day was me just relaxing followed by a trip to Ulta to use a gift card I got for my birthday. I love Ulta. I can literally spend hours in there wandering around.

Also I went to a friend’s house for a BBQ. Every year on the 3rd there is fireworks near me. It’s a really big event and loads of people come down. I love them but because of the amount of people we have to park about 2 miles away and walk to where they are. I’ve done it before but this year I was just not feeling it. I knew my foot wouldn’t be able to handle all the walking and standing so I just went to the BBQ and left when they all started walking. Honestly I wasn’t even that bummed out about missing them.

Saturday I headed to the beach again. I left really early to beat the traffic and it was gorgeous out! No humidity, plenty of sun and a nice breeze. To me there is nothing better then being on a beach reading a book. It was a great way to celebrate the holiday. The water was also really nice. It wasn’t crazy cold like it usually is. After I got bored I headed home to enjoy the rest of the day watching movies.

Sunday I went to a BBQ at family friends. It was good to see them and enjoy the day outside like that.

I was sad to have to go back to work today. It was such a nice weekend I didn’t want it to end! Also it made me sad that I have to wait almost 2 months until my vacation!! I ready to have a break NOW.

How was your Fourth of July?

On the Catwalk

Since I was on the topic of shopping yesterday I wanted to talk about something related. I love dresses. I love looking at them, trying them on, and even buying a couple. I love how you just throw one piece on and your dressed. I love how you can feel confident and sexy wearing one.

However, I NEVER wear them unless I’m going to a wedding or something equally formal. I want to become the kind of person who can wear dresses when they go out or even to go to work.

I see women of all shapes and sizes wear dresses and they look amazing. Confident, stylish, and they look comfortable. When I wear a dress?? I feel awkward, over dressed and out of place. I have a couple of dresses that are begging to be used and I just can’t get myself to wear them.

Why can other women wear dresses to the same places I’m going but I feel like a tool when I wear a dress? The only time I wear a dress is when I go to the beach and it’s a cover-up. It’s just so comfortable and easy to slip on. I want to be able to do that in other circumstances.

Maybe that could be my next test. Wearing a dress out to a bar one night.

Do you wear dresses or do they make you feel awkward too?

How do you wear them and not feel out of place?
